about

Elma McElligott (flute), Karen Ryan (fiddle), Pete Quinn (keyboard).
Karen and Pete feel very fortunate to have spent time with the legendary Donegal fiddle player, Tommy Peoples, during his various visits to Return to Camden Town Festival, which included a memorable first in 2002 when he performed with fellow Donegal greats, Danny Meehan and James Byrne (RIP). In 2015, Tommy published his remarkable book Ó Am Go hAm (‘From Time to Time’) – Tutor, Text and Tunes by Tommy Peoples. Featuring well over 100 of his compositions, Karen found ‘The March To Kinsale’, a three-part march which Tommy wrote in 2007 as part of a combined march-song-reel suite in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the Flight of the Earls. We’re very grateful to Tommy for giving us permission to record this wonderful tune. The book is available to purchase from his website (www.tommypeoples.ie).
